Improvement Concept
Concept Improvement Video
This six minute video simulation shows the preferred improvement concept for the I-435/I-35/K-10 interchange. Three colors are shown to explain the primary roadway elements of the interchange:
- Orange Shows the mainline freeway through movements.
- Blue shows the parallel collector- distributor system connecting the freeway to freeway movements.
- Green shows the local street system and the ramps connecting to the freeway system.
The simulation highlights three different routes and shows how drivers will navigate through the interchange area. The routes shown are:
- Southbound I-35 to Renner Boulevard
- Eastbound K-10 to northbound I-35
- Renner Boulevard to northbound I-435
Driver Simulation Video
This four minute driver simulation video provides a driver’s perspective of a trip through the improvement concept with anticipated 2040 traffic moving at 60 mph. The simulation route, from eastbound K-10 to northbound I-35, shows where traffic signage would be and when drivers would have to make decisions. The route is also color coded in orange, blue, and green to help illustrate the primary roadway elements of the interchange. It should be noted that the graphics depicted in the video simulation have been added to give drivers a partial representation of the surrounding environment and are not intended to depict the actual setting. Roadways will actually be designed to meet current highway standards.
